# Hostname Integrity Check

With the Hostname Integrity check**,** you can look up a hostname and verify that the query response from one of the Authoritative DNS returns the correct answer(s).

The check is configured with the expected response (responses) as an input parameter.

The expected responses can be in IP Address, Subnet Mask or [CNAME](https://apica-kb.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=ASMDOCS\&title=CNAME\&linkCreation=true\&fromPageId=4635410) format.

When multiple expected responses are used, the check can match any one or all of them.
