# Delete a Project

Projects can only be deleted by users with Admin privileges. If you do not have Admin rights, you will not see the delete (trash can) icon at the right of your object icons.

{% hint style="danger" %}
If you delete a project, you will delete all objects in that project. Projects should only be deleted when they are no longer needed, and any required retention periods are elapsed.
{% endhint %}

To delete a project, click in the check box to the left of the project name to select it then on the trash can icon to the right of the project name on the main project page. TDO will open a confirmation window asking if you want to take this action; click 'OK' to delete and 'Cancel' if you want to stop the deletion process.

If you click 'OK' the project will be deleted and will no longer be available to select or assign to users. A green success message will briefly pop up in the upper right corner of the page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.apica.io/platform-docs/test-data-orchestrator-tdo/user-documentation/tdo-project-builder-user-guide/projects/delete-a-project.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
